{NoLa Find}: Ancora

This past Tuesday, I was lucky enough to have dinner with the beautiful Ashley, designer of Porter Lyons jewelry.

We were looking for a place neither of us have been, when Ashley suggested Ancora.

Authentic Neapolitan pizza?? Yes, please! There was no way I could pass that up. 

Plus the restaurant was located on Feret Street, and street that is really starting to rebuild itself and establish an image that it is a safe place to shop, dine, play, work and live.

Now back to the food …

We had THE best waiter. Ayron was so knowledgable about everything on the menu, wine selections and he explained in detail all of the specials. Not only that, but we deferred to him to pick out our meal since we couldn’t decide! 

It was our best decision ever.

Ayron started us out with one of their daily specials, the Arancini with tomato sauce shown above. 

These balls were filled with this sort of cheesy rice and mozzarella. SO AMAZING. And dipped in the tomato sauce. Foodgasim.

For our main course, we shared the Bianca pizza. This pizza was loaded with flavor. It was topped with fior di latte {type of mozzarella cheese}, crispy basil, olives, garlic & chili, so how could it not be?!

I dream about this pizza.

Whyyyy did I send Ashley home with the leftovers? A decision I regret to this day.
