Hey y’all! Happy Wednesday & What I Ate Wednesday.
Yesterday I came across this on twitter:
I have not committed to my health. At all.
I’ll be the first to admit that I have commitment issues. When I commit, I’m 100% there. No questions asked. But it’s that step of committing that usually gives me an anxiety attack and causes me to run the other way, questioning everything.
It got me thinking last night – am I struggling so much with eating right, sticking to portion sizes, exercising consistently, stopping my binge eating and keeping my anxiety under control because I’m not COMMITTED to being healthy?
Yes, I want to feel good and look good, but that is not a commitment, it’s just a want and desire.
So last night, I made the executive decision to commit to my health. Bam. Done. I’m scared to death I’m going to screw up and fall off the wagon just as I’ve done in the past, but because I made this commitment, knowing me, I’ve got this and KNOW it will be a learning experience.
Food.
There is only one food picture for y’all today! Sorry! A lot of my eats are already at work!
M1: Egg white & mushroom omelet and 1/4c oatmeal

M2: Strawberry Syntha-6 protein shake
M3: 1c Cherry tomatoes & cucumbers tossed in balsamic vinegar & 1/2 tbsp evoo, smoked chicken breast and 1/2c mix of quinoa, split peas, green lentils, mushrooms & fresh rosemary
M4: Strawberry Syntha-6 protein shake
M5: 1c Carrots roasted in 1/2tbsp evoo and baked catfish
M6: Cinnamon Bun Syntha-6 dessert protein shake {if I’m hungry for a meal 6!!}
It’s the return of the protein shakes!!
Whenever I try to “tone up” I tend to have issues unless I get the right amount of protein. I’ve sat down with a trainer in the past to figure this out. Last night, while committing to my health for some reason I remembered this!
The whey protein shakes aren’t exactly in line with the Tone It Up Nutrition Plan, but everyone has to do what works for them! These next few weeks will most definitely be trial and error, but that’s life!
Fun.
Fun fact no. 1: Today is my Friday … words can’t express how excited I am to have 1.5 days off before heading to the beach with my friends for the weekend. Seeing as I have taken off one day since January, these next two days are well deserved :)
Plus, off time = healthy. Goes in line with my commitment to my health!
Fun fact no 2: I’m heading to the beach with a large group of friends on Friday. Ahhh. I really can’t wait!!
Vacation = healthy.
Fun fact no. 3: non-dog owners are scared to death of Sydney.

She doesn’t look scary at all! Her tail is always wagging and I swear she smiles on her entire walk!
Maybe that’s because I’m a dog owner?
Well, being the mature adult I am, this past week on Sydney’s walks, I’ve let her go up to people {she LOVES people} to see their reaction and laugh to myself as they jump back in fear.
Sorry, I’m not sorry.
Plus, laughing = healthy.
Fitness.
These last few days I’ve been under the weather.
Clearly I caught swamp fever.
After religiously taking Wellness Formula {thanks Blakely for the suggestion!!}, I finally felt up to a workout this morning.
I didn’t want anything too intense, but I did want to work hard since I committed to my health last night, so I tried the Wedding Arms Workout I posted yesterday for one amazing upper body workout …

… and added a .25 mile sprint after each round.
Exactly what the doctor ordered!! My arms are going to be sore and I’m counting down the seconds until I feel it!
Strength and cardio training = healthy
What food have you been eating?
What fun do you have planned?
What have your workouts been like?
Have you committed to your health?
Xoxo,

That is my favorite egg combo. I love mushroom in eggs. They really give eggs a meaty texture. My usual egg combo is egg whites with mushroom, onion, and bell pepper…I just wish NOLA had more restaurants that served egg white omelets on their brunch menu.
Its funny how some of the biggest, most intimidating people I know are scared of the smallest, more friendly dogs.
I cannot believe you haven’t’ taken a day off since January! You deserve as many days off as you want. Have a great time @ the beach this weekend. Can’t wait to hear all about it!!
My foods have mostly been consisting of salads, eggs & smoothies. I honestly feel like I could turn into a chicken any minute with the amount of eggs I’ve been eating haha.
Thank you!
Ahh yes, haha, at least if you turn into a chicken I’m not far behind you :)
Ahhh I agree with Jessie, you need days off woman, embrace them!
That looks like a tasty egg combination too, definitely something I would enjoy, so now to recreate? I think so :)
Thank you!
Hahah. YES. Now time for you to recreate!
I am committing to getting my butt to the gym at least 3 times a week!
Wow you and I are on the same page!! I’ve decided this week that I need to recommit to my health as well. Because of health issues I’ve had to stay away from fruits and veggies (SAD) but that doesn’t mean that I can’t do other healthy things. I’m already feeling better too! And yay for your day off! That’s wonderful!
