Brunch On A Budget

By in Food

Y’all know how much I love brunch, but honestly, sometimes it can really add up money-wise, even without alcohol.

So last weekend, I decided to make myself a fun little brunch and let me just tell y’all, it was AH-MAZING.

On the menu: Sausage & egg biscuits and Mocha coffee. Yum!

For the biscuits, I picked up some whole wheat biscuits, turkey sausage and eggs. Oh! And I scrambled one egg and two whites.

OH. SO. GOOD.!!! I’m a huge sausage and egg biscuit kind of girl. Love that this meal has so much flavor and was not cooked in a stick of butter! Haha.

Total for two biscuits {including biscuit, eggs & sausage}: $ 2.26

My Mocha coffee is two shots of Cool Brew, 1/4c water and 1/2c chocolate milk {chocolate soy milk is pretty amazing as well, but the store was out Sunday morning}.

I love this drink because it is full of flavor, not a ridiculous amount of calories and even has a few grams of protein. It fulfills my daily sweet craving too!

Total for my coffee: $1.41

Brunch total for one: $3.67

Um .. yes, please. Especially because this meal would have cost me at least $10 if I were at a coffee shop or restaurant.

This is how I like to roll! Haha.

It’s times like this when I know I’m closer to saving for that Michael Kors watch I’ve been eyeing.

So if you are looking for something money friendly to do this weekend, I recommend making this meal for your family and/or friends.

Do you re-create your favorite type of meals at home to save some money?

Are you surprised by how much cheaper it is to cook at home?

Xoxo,
