Hey friends! How was y’alls weekend? Mine was great!
This weekend, I partied (maybe a little too hard) Friday, shopped Saturday and Sunday I cleaned, ran errands and relaxed. I’m ready to tackle this week! Also, while at the grocery Sunday, I grabbed some more turkey sausage. All is right with the world again! haha.
Sydney spent the entire weekend relaxing. This was after she got in to 1.5 Think Thin protein bars, and one Larabar. More on that later … I’m still too mad to discuss. Haha.
So while I was shopping Saturday, and catching up on some blog reading Sunday, one trend I’ve noticed for fall 2011 is leopard. At first, I was a little iffy about this trend, since I flashed back to all that animal print in high school. This time around, though, the prints are being used in a classier fashion, in my opinion.
Here are a few items that have caught my eye. Because the leopard print is just a current trend and no one knows how long it will last, personally, I can’t bear to spend too much on any item. I kept that in mind when I was choosing my favorite leopard items, to share with you. You’re very welcome :)
Leopard Skirts. Love this! You can pair it with a subtle top and jacket so that you could wear it to work, or with a hot little top to wear it out at night. I’m really feeling the skirt on the far left. Since I’m short, I can get away with wearing this to work … hmmm.
BB Dakota, $62; Target, $14.99; Bloomingdale’s, $52
Leopard Purses. For purses, I’m really feeling the small, clutch, across the body type bags.
Kohl’s, $28 (on sale); Asos, $49; Fashion Lab, $16.99 (on sale)
Leopard Flats. This is my absolute favorite way I have seen the leopard being used, and I’m dying for a pair!! Going the flat route is perfect for me in that I can wear it everyday and everywhere – work, meetings, errands, etc.
Michael Antonio, $20.87; Coconuts, $50; Steve Madden $86
Of course, because I do want these so bad, I struggled to find the “perfect pair” within a decent price range. What’s up with that?? My dream pair:
Elie Tahair … and *only* $198. Can anyone lend me some money??? Pleassse???
What are your thoughts? Yes or no to this fall’s leopard trend? What other clothing pieces or accessories do you like with the leopard print?

I’m a fan of the leopard shoe trend. My BCBG’s are my go to flat shoe.
Oh! I need to look at their flats then! Like I said, I’m dying to get some!
I LOVE leopard print. I just bought some super cute leopard print wedges from payless, $26! You should check them out. I think that animal prints are always in style and can be worn year round! I have 2 pairs of leopard print flats that I wear way too much, which is obvious from how extremely worn they are (we’ve had this convo!) There is a cute LP skirt at NY& Co, but I may have missed out on it. It’s sold out online. Cute LP breezy shirt at old navy. OH!!! and LP keds that I have had my eye on for a while. Yeah, I love leopard print! Might as well just call me The Nanny! You know what I really want? I leopard print bow headband :P
I know! I wanted to add the NY&Co one here, but they are sold out :( That was my top pick!
And in regards to that leopard print headband, my friend Lauren @ All About Me on Metairie Rd makes them! You should stop by there, I bet she has some and/or can make you one!
Oh, and I just got a cute leopard print dress from TJ Maxx. Haha!
Yea … you’re in love :)
Love leopard these days! Just got a scarf that I want to wear every day and I also got some cute flats last year from Dillards that still look brand new! I’m begining to come out of my plain, Banana Republic shell!
I am a fan of animal print period! As long as it is in good taste, it’s awesome!
I like leopard print, but only if it’s done right. It’s gotta be classy. I’m loving those flats for sure! Yay shoes!
Yep yep! Im totally on board with it!! Except – like you – I think its more of an accessory trend. I have a leopard print scarf/ neckerchief that I got from Topshop and that I LOVE!
I totally agree with you–those flats are amazing!
The only leopard print I own are heels. I just have not been brave enough to actually “wear” any leopard print. I like the skirt idea. I think that would be a great way to dip my toes into the water!
I’m careful with leopard since it has a tendency to look a little trashy if not done well, but when done well, it’s fabulous! I just bought a Ralph Lauren leopard dress last week from TJ MAXX. Score!
I love, love, love the flats on the left. Those are adorable!
