Hey y’all! Happy weekend! Have you had a good one so far?
Yesterday evening, my friends and I went to the Gretna Heritage Festival. Great food, fun bands and, of course, a great time with friends!
Usually, I’m not an oreo fan, but fried oreo’s? YES, PLEASE! My friend Jesse got some and shared them with us. One was definitely enough. BUT. IT. WAS. SO. GOOD.
They had so many fried treats. They are all a heart attack coming, but sometimes this girl likes to live on the edge! haha. My friend KCK and I split a fried oey goey. We thought it would be fried oey goey cake, but instead it was a fried marshmallow. When we first saw it we were totally bummed, but … we finished it. So, apparently it was pretty good!
There was also a chicken kabob involved. It was thigh meat, and gone in 30 seconds. I love kabobs. I also had some of these:
Not just any mushrooms … crab boiled mushrooms. Ahhhhh. So spicy and amazing. Loved!!
And then there was the music. We were traveling to and from a few different stages, when Chelsea and I stumbled upon the Tip Tops. We both fell in love … Cuban Shuffle, Back that A$$ Up, Proud Mary, Love Train … do I keep going? We were dancing machines, per usual.
The band:
Haha. Like my shadow? I look so tall!!!!
Here are a few other pictures from the festival:

It really was such a great time. The best part? I was home by 11. I’m still a tad bit sick, so I knew I needed my rest. I also have a big day planned today, so I really needed rest!
Do you have big plans today? Have you gotten a lot done? So far, I enjoy some of this (sorry for the blurry photo):
3 egg whites, 2 oz oven roasted turkey and 1/2c cherry tomatoes. So yum! It was perfect to get me fueled up for my Hour Blast class (read my review here). Class this morning was KILLER. Sprints at incline 6 AND 9? See! Killer. Clearly, I loved every second of it.
After class it was time to re-fuel:
Two turkey sausages with about 1tbsp of WF Grade A Maple Syrup. It was little bites of heaven. I really think I could eat breakfast foods at every meal of the day. What is it about breakfast foods??
Well, I’m off to take little Sydney for a walk, stretch it out (or maybe a little 20 minutes yoga session), watch the LSU game and head to a birthday party tonight. Told you I had a busy day! Hopefully I can get a little kitchen cleaning and a nap in between these events. Happy Saturday everyone!
Sydney is patiently awaiting her walk.
How do you feel about breakfast foods? Love? Hate? Do you wish you could have breakfast at every meal?

Tell me more of these crab boiled mushroom…
And I’m glad you had fun at the festival – yes a deep fried oreo = not the healthiest but there’s never anything wrong with a little indulgence every once in a while!
Well, whenever you boil crabs you do so with a lot of spice. Usually, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, different kinds of pepper. A lot of times, people will thrown in veggies for extra flavor, such as corn, potatoes, mushrooms, cloves of garlic, onions and lemons. Usually you get to eat the cooked veggies after … and they retain all of the other flavors. SO GOOD!
Wow! I have heard of fried oreos but never tried them. They sound suuuuuper rich!
I could literally eat breakfast food for every single meal of the day! I loooove breakfast!
