What I Ate Wednesday

By in Food

Morning friends! Welcome to my first shot at “What I Ate Wednesday” or WIAW. Jennifer at Peas and Crayons has this set up so that any blogger can post what they ate, and then link it back to her site. By the end of the day, she will have a collection for you to check out!

It looks like a lot of fun, so I’ve decided to give it a shot! Hopefully, it will get me in the habit of taking pictures of the amazing dishes BEFORE I devour them? Like I said … hopefully!!

What WIAW isn’t about: Comparison – Judgement – Restriction – Guilt
What WIAW is about: Celebrating one of the glorious things we all have in common: We all eat!

How fun does that sound? Well, today, mine is more What I Ate Tuesday, but you get the idea. Here it goes!

WIAWbutton What I Ate WednesdayTuesday started with one amazing, light and refreshing breakfast:

photo 632 e1315948345673 224x300 What I Ate WednesdayA delicious little creation o’mine. The inspiration came from Meals and Moves. My shake consisted of 1 frozen banana, about 5 ice cubes, 1 scoop of vanilla sun warrior protein, 1 tsp of cacao powder with maca and about 1 cup of almond milk. It was cold and almost milkshake like. So good!

Right when I got to work, I knew it was a coffee day:

photo 64 300x300 What I Ate WednesdayCall me a creep but I actually like the taste of plain ‘ole black coffee. It hit the spot.

Around 10:30 I got a little hungry so I pulled out one of my favorite snacks, and drank some water:

For lunch, everyone from work went to the Store. We go here a lot. Personally, what I love about them is that they don’t mind when you substitute and/or add things to what you order. Yesterday, I went with the Spicy Asian Turkey Salad:

Spicy Asian Turkey – Spring mix, spicy roasted turkey salad, diced tomato, julienned carrots, crispy wontons, black sesame seeds & soy vinaigrette

I asked for no wontons and the dressing on the side. I maybe used about 1 t of the dressing? The spicy roasted turkey salad was turkey breast tossed in a spicy mayonnaise sauce. It was the perfect salad. The greens, carrots and tomatoes were cold, fresh and crisp. The turkey was lightly coated with that amazing sauce that has just enough kick to it. Add on the soy vinaigrette, which also had a little kick, and I was in heaven. This is my new favorite salad … ever.

Dinner was a few small plates that MAY have been followed by a slice of pizza …

First up was a 1/2 slice of WF sourdough sprouted wheat bread with the rest of WF chicken salad.

photo 66 300x300 What I Ate WednesdayUsually, I avoid pre-made chicken salads because of the large amount of mayonnaise. While I love mayonnaise, too much creeps me out. For this chicken salad, it’s not too mayonnaise-y AND the chicken is smoked. Yes folks, you heard me, the chicken is smoked! So. Freaking. Good.

After I was craving something sweet, but not chocolate sweet.

photo 67 300x300 What I Ate WednesdayA macaroon. {Swoons} It hit the sweet spot, but left me wanting something salty:

Tuesday evening, I had a meeting. There was pizza from Reginelli’s. Love that place. I grabbed a slice of the pepperoni and ate a few bites until all the pepperoni’s were gone. It was totally worth those few bites! I’m not going to lie that it wasn’t. Plus it gave me the fuel I needed for Hour Blast this morning!

Speaking of which, today is the LAST DAY for the SPECIALS at Hour Blast so get your package today, and tell them you heard about them from me (Liz Ford)! New to the hour blast trend? Live in the New Orleans area? Check out my Hour Blast Review.

Did you eat anything you found to be ever so amazing yesterday? Today? What is your favorite meal ever?

Today I tried spaghetti squash sweet for lunch. I just mixed it with cinnamon, yogurt and almond milk. It was pretty good!
